How to Merge PDF Files

  1. Add your files. Drag and drop your PDFs onto the page, or click to browse — you can merge up to 20 files at once, up to 250 MB combined.
  2. Arrange the order. Drag any file to a new position, or use the up/down arrows on mobile. The order you set is the order the pages appear in the final document.
  3. Add page numbers (optional). Turn on page numbering and choose a position — top or bottom, left, center, or right.
  4. Merge and download. Click Merge PDF. Processing takes seconds, and you can rename the file before downloading it.

Why Use CurePDF to Merge PDF Files?

Reorder Files Exactly How You Want

Most merge tools only let you reverse the order you uploaded in. CurePDF lets you drag any file into any position — on desktop with your mouse, on mobile with touch or the on-screen arrow buttons — so you're never stuck re-uploading to fix the sequence.

Works on Desktop and Mobile

Because it runs in your browser, CurePDF's merge tool works the same way on Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile browsers on Android or iOS — no separate app to download.

Merging Multiple PDF Files

If you're combining more than two files, CurePDF handles it the same way as a simple two-file merge — just add all your PDFs at once. You can merge up to 20 files in a single batch and reorder every one of them before you download, so combining PDF files into one document doesn't mean losing control over what order they end up in.

Merging Two PDF Files

Upload both files, check that they're in the order you want, and click Merge PDF. There's no extra step for a two-file merge versus a larger batch.

Does Merging Change Page Order?

The order you arrange your files in is the order their pages appear in the final PDF:

File A (pages 1–3) + File B (pages 1–2) → merged PDF: pages 1–5, in that sequence.

Prefer to flip the whole sequence instead of dragging each file individually? The "reverse file order" option does that in one click.

Does Merging Reduce PDF Quality?

No. Merging copies each page from your original files into the new document as-is — it doesn't re-render, re-compress, or otherwise alter the content, text, or images. The only thing added, if you choose it, is an optional page number stamped onto each page.

Is It Safe to Merge PDFs Online?

Your files are processed in memory and are automatically deleted within 1 hour of being uploaded. We don't review, share, sell, or otherwise use the contents of your files beyond performing the merge you requested. As with any online service, we recommend not uploading documents containing highly sensitive information (like government IDs or financial account numbers) to any web-based tool, including this one, unless you're comfortable with standard web-based processing.

Merge PDFs on Any Device

CurePDF's merge tool works in any modern web browser — no separate download for Windows, Mac, or Linux, and no app to install on Android or iPhone/iPad. Because reordering files works with both drag gestures and on-screen buttons, it's usable on a touchscreen as well as a mouse and keyboard.
