Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy lists every cookie and similar technology CurePDF uses, why, and how long each one lasts. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser, for example to keep you signed in or remember a choice. We also count similar technologies, such as browser storage and the small requests our pages send to record usage, as cookies when asking for your consent.

2. Necessary and Preference Cookies (always on)

The site needs these to work or to remember choices you made, so they can't be switched off. None of them track you across other websites.

• sessionid (CurePDF, 2 weeks): keeps you signed in, and holds the security code on the sign-in and sign-up forms.
• csrftoken (CurePDF, 1 year): protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
• curepdf_cookie_consent (CurePDF, 6 months): remembers your cookie choices.
• curepdf_lang (CurePDF, 1 year): remembers the language you chose, so we can offer it to you on other pages. It is only set when you open a page in a language other than English.
• Display preferences (CurePDF, browser storage, until you clear it): your light/dark theme and similar view settings. These stay in your browser and are never sent to us.

Failed sign-in attempts are counted on our server, not in a cookie, to block password-guessing attacks.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

These help us understand how CurePDF is used so we can improve it. They are off until you accept them, and turning them off again takes effect immediately.

• cp_vid (CurePDF, 2 years): a random visitor ID that lets us count repeat visits. If you withdraw consent, it is deleted on your next visit.
• Usage logging (CurePDF, no cookie): records which pages and tools you use, for how long, and the names of files you process.
• Approximate location (ip-api.com, no cookie): we send your IP address to ip-api.com to estimate your country and city.
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google, up to 2 years): cookies such as _ga and _ga_* that measure visits and usage. Google Tag Manager is only used if we have it enabled.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft, up to 1 year, only if we have it enabled): cookies such as _clck and _clsk.

Even without this consent, we keep basic request logs for security and usage limits, as described in the Privacy Policy. Those logs don't use any cookie.

4. Advertising and Marketing

CurePDF doesn't run any advertising, ad-measurement, retargeting or marketing technology, so no such cookies are set. If we add any in the future, they will stay off until you consent to that category, and we will update this policy to name the service.

5. Under-18 Accounts

If you told us at signup that you are under 18, we never use the optional cookies or logging above for you, whatever you choose in Cookie Settings.

6. Changing Your Choice

Use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer to accept, reject, or choose by category at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent and takes effect immediately. Whatever you choose, you can still use every tool.

When we change what a category covers, we ask you again. This happened most recently when Analytics was expanded to include the CurePDF visitor ID, usage logging and the location lookup.

7. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking necessary cookies will sign you out and may stop some features from working.
