What Are Line Tools?
Line tools are small text operations that work on a list one line at a time — removing duplicate entries, dropping blank lines, sorting alphabetically, reversing the order, or cleaning up inconsistent spacing. They're useful for cleaning up a pasted list of emails, URLs, keywords, or any other line-separated data before using it elsewhere.
How to Use Line Tools
- Paste your list. One item per line, in the box above.
- Click an operation. The result appears instantly below, along with how many lines changed.
- Chain more operations if needed. Click "Use result as input" to feed the output back in and apply another operation.
- Copy or download. Use the Copy button to copy the result, or Download to save it as a .txt file.
What Each Operation Does
Remove duplicates keeps only the first occurrence of each exact line. Remove empty lines drops any line that's blank or contains only whitespace. Remove extra spaces trims leading/trailing whitespace from every line and collapses repeated spaces between words into one. Sort A→Z / Z→A sorts lines alphabetically. Reverse order flips the line order top-to-bottom without sorting.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I remove duplicate lines from a list?
Paste your text into the box and click "Remove duplicates" — every repeated line is removed, keeping only the first occurrence, in its original position.
How do I sort a list of lines alphabetically?
Click "Sort A→Z" for ascending order or "Sort Z→A" for descending — both sort the lines as plain text (case-sensitive).
How do I remove blank lines from text?
Click "Remove empty lines" — every line that's empty or contains only whitespace is removed, closing up the gaps.
What does "Remove extra spaces" do?
It trims leading and trailing whitespace from every line and collapses multiple spaces between words into a single space, without changing line breaks.
Can I reverse the order of lines without sorting them?
Yes — "Reverse order" flips the line order top-to-bottom without reordering alphabetically or numerically.
Can I combine multiple operations?
Yes — each button processes whatever is currently in the box, so you can click Remove duplicates, then Sort A→Z, then Remove empty lines in sequence to chain operations together.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Every operation runs entirely in your browser — your text is never sent to CurePDF's servers.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account required and no limit on how much text you can process.
